Spirituality Studies 99 Georges Antaby Such a synthesis aligns with the vision of Orientale Lumen, where unity is understood as reciprocal enrichment rather than uniformity. The patristic tradition thus offers a model of communion rooted in shared faith yet open to diverse expressions. By articulating this triadic framework, the present study contributes to contemporary scholarship in three ways. First, it provides a methodological approach for interpreting the diversity of twentieth-century patristic theology. Second, it bridges patristic studies and spiritual theology by emphasizing the lived practices – prayer, liturgy, and sacramental participation – that sustain theological reflection. Third, it proposes a constructive model of ecclesial communion rooted in the shared heritage of the early Church and capable of informing contemporary ecumenical dialogue. Ultimately, the Fathers remind the Church that theology finds its fulfillment in transformed lives. When united with prayer, fidelity to truth, and symbolic depth, theology becomes a path toward communion with God – one that remains both faithful to its origins and responsive to the needs of the contemporary world.
