Spirituality Studies 43 Arik Segev The Ten Sefirot as a Framework for Spiritual-Educational Development Received December 1, 2025 Revised January 21, 2026 Accepted January 28, 2026 Keywords Ten Sefirot, spiritual development, Educational Theology, Phenomenology of Religion, wisdom This study proposes a spiritual-educational framework based on the theological metaphysics of the Ten Sefirot. Using a phenomenological approach, it reinterprets this theological structure, traditionally read as a “top-down” divine emanation that creates everything, into distinct “bottom-up” stages of the human spirit’s ascent toward wisdom. The resulting map describes ten distinct stages of developing consciousness, offering a structured educationaldevelopmental path for searching for the meaning of Being. This model is designed to be accessible beyond institutional religion, offering a systematic, universal roadmap that is open to educators, and anyone interested. By specifying these developmental phases, this study contributes a theoretical and practical framework for spiritual education that bridges Jewish mysticism with general philosophical inquiry.
